“Through a friend I have been able to grab access to the encampment just before the night of the crackdown on May 1st, 2024. What amazed me was the almost unlimited amount of supplies gathered in all the boxes scattered across the camp, piles upon piles and boxes upon boxes of toothbrushes, flashlights, goggles, etc. What amazed me even more was the incredible system that was set in place, there were tents set up just for charging stations, medical tents with med students on standby, and food stations with volunteers sorting each kind of foods. The entire camp was sorted out to be a communal effort, reminding me much of the walking dead refuge setups from the storyline video games. Through the night, the students and supporters of all ages rallied together to maintain their physical ground and through flashbangs and rubber bullets, the camp fell around 5 AM and supporters arrested at 6AM.”
