I am Patrick Shao, a recent graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a B.A. in Fine Arts, concentrating on Photography, and a minor in Film. My journey through UCLA has honed my skills in both still photography and filmmaking, laying a strong foundation for my aspirations in-studio exploration, photojournalism, and documentary filmmaking.

My current work explores themes of isolation and the serene beauty found in solitude. I am deeply fascinated by the subtle contrasts between being alone and feeling lonely, which I strive to capture through my lens. This focus allows me to convey powerful narratives that resonate on both personal and universal levels.

Driven by a love for learning and storytelling, my dream is to create and learn to become a well-rounded artist and explore more than what I am comfortable with. Balancing my technical expertise with a creative imagination, I am committed to experiencing and capturing the breadth of life's situations.

In addition to my professional endeavors, I bring a unique blend of interests and skills, ranging from custom motorcycle work to the art of aquascaping and bonsai. Fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese, I am poised to navigate diverse cultural landscapes, further enriching my storytelling capabilities.
